JOB TITLE:
STATUS: Part-Time
HOURS: Nights only Monday – Friday 5pm-9pm
SUPERVISOR: Pantry Line cook
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience:
- Prior experience in hospitality and working in a restaurant, hotel, club.
- 2-4years of experience
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent situational awareness
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
- Fundamental job knowledge of position and how kitchens work
- Knife skills
- Ability to be trained and execute dishes upon Chef satisfaction
- Attributes:
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Friendly, professional and respectful attitude toward members, guests, vendors and fellow team members and management
- A self starter someone who has the ability to understand what needs to be done
JOB DUTIES:
- To set up and man, an efficient station, both hot and cold
- To prepare all items on the ala carte menu, whilst adhering to quality and presentation standards.
- To assist in the helping and prepping of banquets when needed
- To follow all set recipes and specification sheets
- The ability to work by oneself without constant supervision,
- To stock and maintain a mise en place station, that is both prepped and sanitary, that the ingredients are both fresh and dated and labeled.
- To help out with banquet parties.
- Notifying a manager when product is getting low
- To ensure that areas of cooks work station is safe and hazard free and to report any safety issues to a supervisor.
- The ability to date and label all items placed in the relevant refrigerators and to ensure there is a constant flow, as to stored stock.
- The ability to adhere to the Clubs rules noted in Handbook
- The ability to work quickly and with focus, especially during periods of business.
- The ability to be self motivated in all aspects of the operation and in slow periods of business
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift at least 20lbs.
- Must be able to stand for 6 or more hours
RELATIONSHIP WITH MEMBERS:
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and diplomatic relationship with Club members.
- Take into consideration the needs and wishes of members.
DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES:
- Must abide by the handbook provided
DEPARTMENTAL DRESS CODE:
- Attire will be provided to you
GENERAL:
- It is your responsibility to be familiar with the WAC Personnel Manual.
- Abide by all Club and Departmental policies.
- Show concern for and pride in the growth and image of your department and the Woman’s Athletic Club.
