Upscale French Restaurant Group is seeking a motivated, energetic Line Cook to join our growing team. As a line cook, you oversee the culinary operations in the hot line by following our standards and procedures. The hot line cook is essential to the daily operation of the kitchen and needs to work with precision and care to produce a quality product while working well in a team setting. Location: 20 East 60th Street New York, NY 10022
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare all food items on the restaurant’s hot line consistently and as directed by chef, also in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Assist with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
- Prepare food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
- Plate prepared foods based on chef guidance.
- Ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
- Wash and clean the kitchen and cooking utensils and store the equipment at the end of the shift.
- Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least one year of cooking experience.
- Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong organization and active listening skills.
- The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Hold a current Food Handler’s license or must obtain within a month of hire.
