Position: Kitchen Lead
Location: FROTH + Bunker (shared kitchen inside The Duncan – Chicago, IL)
Schedule: Mid-shift coverage (10am-6pm), with crossover into both breakfast and dinner service (weekends required)
Compensation: $21-24/hr + tips, plus benefits & amenities
FROTH is coffee with a cocktail mindset. Bunker is your neighborhood bar with a killer patio and solid food. Both run out of the same kitchen, and we’re hiring one strong Kitchen Lead to help guide the team — someone who can cook, train, and build systems that last.
This is a working leadership role — perfect for someone with strong line experience who’s ready to help elevate the kitchen from the inside out.
What You’ll Do:

Work mid-shifts that overlap with day and evening service

Cook on the line during service — you’re leading by example

Ensure smooth handoffs between the AM and PM teams

Collaborate with managers on SOPs, food safety practices, and kitchen systems

Train and support line cooks and prep staff in recipe execution and technique

Maintain a clean, efficient kitchen space using Chicago health standards

Help keep the kitchen organized, stocked, and running like a tight ship
What We’re Looking For:

3+ years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen, with some leadership or trainer experience

Skilled line cook who’s fast, clean, and consistent

Strong communication skills — can coach without ego

Proficient in Spanish or comfortable using a translation app to facilitate kitchen communication

Able to document, reinforce, and uphold SOPs and systems

Comfortable working solo when needed, but also great on a team

Food Handler Manager Certification required (City of Chicago)

Compensation Details
