We are Long Hospitality — a young and hungry (pun intended) food & beverage group taking the Asian culinary world by storm. Our award-winning concepts (Michelin Guide, Bib Gourmand, LA Times 101) blend
a trifecta of exceptional food, immersive ambiance, and warm hospitality.
What we are looking for:
Sous Chef and Operations manager, overseeing our kitchen standards and overall operations for our Liu's Cafe concept, ensuring quality is consistent across all dishes. You will be part of our opening team at our new Westwood location!

Daily Kitchen Operations

Oversee all Back-of-House operations throughout prep and service.

Ensure recipe accuracy, consistent prep methods, correct portioning, and Liu’s Café plating standards.

Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and full compliance with all health department regulations.

Support smooth, respectful communication between FOH and BOH to keep service flowing efficiently.
Team Leadership

Train, coach, and hold team members to Liu’s Café service and quality expectations.

Create and manage daily prep lists and production schedules to keep the kitchen ahead of demand.

Lead by example in pace, cleanliness, organization, and respect.

Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
Systems & Quality Control

Implement and maintain Liu’s Café checklists, prep systems, and recipe procedures.

Execute and uphold daily opening and closing routines.

Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, properly maintained, and reported if repairs are needed.

Maintain consistent quality and standards—even without owner presence.
Inventory & Cost Management

Conduct accurate daily inventory of all ingredients and supplies.

Manage ordering, delivery coordination, and vendor relationships.

Reduce waste through efficient prep planning and proper product rotation.

Track prep yields, production efficiency, and identify areas for improvement.
Oversight of General Liu’s Staff

Provide leadership and coordination for all store leads and team members working within or supporting Liu’s Café.

Ensure all cross-trained staff follow Liu’s Café standards, recipes, and service expectations.

Support communication and workflow between Liu’s Café and General Liu’s operations to maintain consistency across both teams.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($65,000.00 - $70,000.00) plus tips
