New June Bakery is a small women owned bakery located in the Brewerytown / Fairmount neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA. We offer a seasonal selection of uniquely designed cakes & pastries that are not only beautiful, but delicious too.
New June’s cakes, and their fresh take on sheet cakes in particular, have been featured in the New York Times T Magazine, on Good Morning America, Food & Wine and Architectural Digest, among many others. New June founder, Noelle Blizzard, has been named a 2024 Rising Star Chef award winner by Star Chefs magazine, and New June received a coveted 2023 “Best of Philly” nod from Philadelphia Magazine.

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a strong understanding of cake baking techniques.
This position is focused on supporting the baking needs of our core production operation, that includes cakes, cookies & pie predominantly.
- Hours: Sunday to Thursday
- Compensation: $22+ hourly based on experience

Responsibilities
- Baking production of our core products, including:
- cake: sour cream based, chocolate, seasonal cakes, chiffon
- cake fillings & frostings: Swiss & French buttercream, curd, marmalade, jam, caramel
- cookies, brownies
- cheesecake & pies
- Following & maintaining recipe accuracy to ensure consistency and quality assurance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in compliance with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
Required Skills
- 2+ years of professional baking experience.
- Philadelphia Servsafe.
- This person needs to be a self-starter, highly organized, communicative and able to take initiative.
- Proven experience in the food industry with a focus on baking.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and production techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members
