Wine & Hospitality Manager

About Marine Beach

Marina Beach — opening this winter in San Francisco’s Marina District — was founded to fill a gap in the Bay Area dining scene — a place for South Asian food that’s both thoughtful and approachable. The concept bridges the space between fine dining and fast casual, pairing vibrant, heritage-driven dishes with natural wines in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

The restaurant’s roots trace back to years spent in kitchens across the country and to inspiration drawn from Parisian chef residencies — where collaboration, creativity, and community are at the core.

Named after Marina Beach in India, the restaurant pays homage to the founder’s family roots. Today, it stands as a small, open-kitchen wine bar by the water, celebrating craftsmanship, culture, and shared experiences.

Why Work With Us

We’re not here to do business as usual. If you believe hospitality is an art form — part precision, part soul, part storytelling — this might just be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. At Marina Beach, we’re reimagining what food and wine can represent — creating a place where culture, community, and connection meet.

Our space is alive with bold new flavors and fresh hospitality energy. We’re grounded by our biodynamic farm, which connects our food and our team to the rhythm of the earth. And we break through wine-world barriers — celebrating low-intervention bottles, small producers, and the joy of discovery over pretension.

Position Overview

This isn’t your typical front-of-house leadership role. It’s an invitation to help shape the energy, identity, and guest experience of a space that’s doing things differently.

As Wine & Hospitality Manager, you’ll set the tone for service and storytelling for our five-person team. You’ll build a team that leads with warmth and authenticity, creating a guest experience that feels polished yet human, elevated yet approachable.

You’ll bring together three essential threads:

  • Guest Experience – Craft a space where hospitality feels alive, intuitive, and personal — where every guest feels like they’re part of something special.
  • Wine Leadership – Curate and guide an evolving list of low-intervention wines that spark conversation and connection.
  • Collaboration & Culture – Partner closely with our Culinary Experience Manager to align service, storytelling, and the rhythm of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional, genuine guest experience.
  • Manage daily operations, ensuring seamless communication between FOH and BOH.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Experience Manager to align food, wine, and service flow.
  • Curate and maintain a dynamic natural wine list; foster relationships with winemakers and distributors.
  • Host wine tastings, events, and educational experiences that bring our story to life.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, fostering a culture of care, accountability, and growth.
  • Oversee reservations, POS, and guest communication systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships and inventory for the wine and beverage program.
  • Maintain high standards of service, safety, and sanitation at all times.
  • Handle guest feedback with empathy and efficiency, ensuring every interaction strengthens our community.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of hospitality or restaurant leadership experience
  • Deep curiosity and enthusiasm for natural wine and the people who make it
  • Passion for building and leading teams with care and clarity
  • Strong organizational skills with a calm, grounded energy under pressure
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
  • Thrives in collaborative, creative environments
  • (Bonus): Experience working in chef-driven or conceptually evolving spaces
  • (Double Bonus): Aspiring to one day open your own restaurant

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Mission-driven, values-forward culture
  • Monthly leadership training to deepen your craft and consciousness
  • Monthly 1:1 professional coaching with a Berkeley Certified Coach
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid sick time and generous paid time off
  • Staff discount on wines
  • Holidays off to rest and recharge
  • Monthly team outings and field trips to our biodynamic farm
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • Referral bonuses for helping us grow our team

As We Grow, You Grow

Marina Beach is more than a wine bar — it’s the first chapter of a bigger story. We’re scaling toward new locations and lifestyle experiences — cafés, music spaces, and wellness concepts — designed to bring people together through joy, beauty, and belonging.

Joining us now means becoming part of the founding team — shaping not just a restaurant, but a movement redefining what hospitality can be.

To Apply

If your heart just said “yes”, we can’t wait to meet you. Send us your resume and a thoughtful message, sharing why you’re the perfect fit to help us reimagine the way people connect through food, wine, and culture.

**Note** Resumes sent without a thoughtful message outlining the above will not be considered in the hiring process.
