Key Responsibilities
Culinary Operations & Service

Oversee daily kitchen preparation and ensure readiness for service.

Execute menu items with consistency, quality, and attention to presentation.

Collaborate with management and bar teams to develop seasonal menus.
Leadership & Staff Management

Hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff, providing regular feedback and support.

Maintain a culture of professionalism, respect, and continuous improvement.

Supervise workflow to ensure efficiency during service hours.
Inventory, Ordering & Cost Control

Manage inventory levels, place orders, and maintain supplier relationships.

Monitor food costs, reduce waste, and ensure timely, high-quality deliveries.

Maintain organized storage areas and ensure facilities are always DOH-compliant.
Health, Safety & Compliance

Conduct regular cleaning, equipment maintenance, and safety checks.

Maintain required certifications and ensure team compliance with DOH.
Administrative & Operational Duties

Maintain accurate prep lists, recipes, and standard operating procedures.

Communicate effectively with management on staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.

Address minor maintenance issues and report major ones promptly.
Requirements

5 years’ BOH experience in a high-volume restaurant (2+ years in a supervisory role preferred).

Strong culinary skills — seafood and oyster shucking experience a plus.

NYC Food Protection Certificate required.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

High standards of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.
