Summary of Position:
The Lounge Manager assists the General Manager (GM) in overseeing lounge operations, ensuring that corporate standards of service are upheld.
Duties & Responsibilities, including but not limited:
Lounge Presence:
• Serve as the primary presence at the lounge host stand and circulate throughout the lounge and balconies.
• Maintain constant communication with servers, captains, and guests during service.
Guest Interaction:
• Escort guests to tables during lunch and dinner services, adhering to seating standards such as introducing
menus and assisting guests with seating.
• Greet and escort guests with a professional and positive attitude, ensuring their comfort from the start.
Reservation and Seating Management:
• Proficiently use OpenTable for both front-of-house and back-end features.
• Ensure the flow of guests within the restaurant, following seating protocols and greeting guests promptly upon
arrival.
Beverage Management:
- You will have control over the beverage program with ordering of both wine and spirits.
- You will work to maintain a secure storage room and ensure that the bars are in health department compliance.
- Beverage knowledge is important for this role.
- You will be responsible for month end inventory.
Operational Knowledge:
• Fully understand the functions of OpenTable and Silverware systems.
• Be knowledgeable of all front-of-house roles, including hostess, bartender, and cocktail preparation and service
steps.
• Possess comprehensive menu knowledge and be capable of performing all roles if necessary, such as answering
phones, making reservations, bussing tables, waiting on tables, and making drinks.
Team Management:
• Supervise the front-of-house team, ensuring they adhere to their responsibilities and maintain high standards
of guest care.
• Monitor and assist with table clearing, resetting, and sanitation protocols.
Liaison Duties:
• Act as the liaison between kitchen and floor staff, assisting with special requests and menu updates.
• Coach the service team to improve performance.
Ambiance Maintenance:
• Maintain the restaurant's ambiance, including lighting, music, cleanliness, and hygiene.
• Ensure the appropriate volume and type of music are played, and lighting is suitable.
Guest Relations:
• Proactively address guest queries and complaints, ensuring a constant presence on the floor.
• Advise guests on menu and beverage choices through a thorough understanding of each item.
Pre-Shift and Transition:
• Be present during shift transitions and, if necessary, conduct the pre-shift meeting and complete the DUB notes.
• Open and close the restaurant effectively, performing comprehensive walkthroughs at the beginning and end
of each shift.
Administrative Support:
• Assist the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and GM as needed.
• Have a working knowledge of HotSchedules and write accurate schedules reflecting business volume.
Team Development:
• Continuously coach and develop team members.
• Assist in the interview process for new candidates, with final hiring decisions made by the GM and AGM.
Decision-Making:
• Make decisions that benefit the overall health and performance of the restaurant.
