Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and charismatic Maître D’ / Lead Host to join our team. The Maître D’ is the pulse of the guest experience — the person who remembers your favorite drink, knows which table you prefer, and turns every visit into something more than a meal — an experience that sets us apart.

This role requires a poised professional who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, leads with grace, and takes pride in crafting meaningful guest connections. You’ll oversee the flow of service at the host stand, manage VIP guests, and ensure every arrival and farewell reflects the warmth of Balos hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.

  • Manage reservations, guest flow, and seating arrangements to optimize the dining experience and maintain balanced server rotations.

  • Lead, train, and inspire the host team to uphold Balos’ standards of excellence.

  • Review reservation notes, VIP details, and guest preferences, ensuring clear communication with management and service teams.

  • Anticipate guest needs — remembering familiar faces, favorite tables, and special occasions.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, wine list, and daily features to support guest inquiries.

  • Oversee host stand operations, including opening and closing procedures.

  • Communicate seamlessly across departments to ensure a smooth, elevated service experience.

  • Handle guest concerns and special requests with discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maître D’, Lead Host, or similar role in a fine dining or high-volume upscale restaurant.

  • Understanding and appreciation of Greek cuisine and culture.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

  • Familiarity with OpenTable, Triple-seat, 7shifts (or similar reservation systems)

  • Polished, professional demeanor and natural warmth in guest interactions.

  • Genuine passion for hospitality and creating unforgettable guest experiences.
