We are a Michelin-recognized restaurant group led by Chef Sungchul Shim, known for blending Korean heritage with modern fine-dining craftsmanship across acclaimed concepts including Kochi, Mari, GUI Steakhouse, and the new chef’s counter, Hwaro. We are seeking a Pastry Cook to join our team and support the creation of refined, innovative desserts that align with our culinary philosophy.
Position Overview
The Pastry Cook plays a vital role in daily pastry production and plating, executing desserts with precision and consistency in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in pastry techniques, an eye for detail, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and teamwork.
Responsibilities:

- Ability to learn, understand, and execute menus
- Follow Recipe and guidelines set by the management team
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure and respect
- Open and close the line
- Maintain and ensure compliances with all regulations of New York City’s health and safety protocol
- Ability to explain or answer all food preparation related questions
- Assist team members when needed, work well in a group oriented environment
Qualifications:
- minimum 1+ Year of pastry experience in restaurant
- A strong sense of urgency and strong communication skill
- Able to work in a team environment
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and plating executions
- Knowledge of and interest in Asian cuisine is plus
- Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly, and constantly improve
- Must be meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards
