Job Title: Assistant Kitchen Manager — Vegan Restaurant
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on kitchen professional to join our team as Assistant Kitchen Manager. Our kitchen is 100% plant-based and made from scratch, and we’re seeking someone who’s passionate about vegan cuisine, quality ingredients, and leading by example in a fast-paced, positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Kitchen Manager in daily operations and team leadership
- Prepare and cook a variety of vegan, from-scratch dishes with consistency and care
- Help train, motivate, and manage kitchen staff
- Assist with staff scheduling and shift coordination
- Maintain inventory and assist with ordering and cost control
- Operate and help oversee POS systems and kitchen workflows
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and organization standards are met
- Contribute to menu prep and creative specials when needed
Requirements:
- Multiple years of experience in a scratch kitchen environment (vegan/vegetarian experience preferred)
- Previous lead or supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
- Strong prep and line cooking skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and scheduling software
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Reliable, positive, and team-focused attitude
- ServSafe Food Manager certification
