Job Details

Major Food Group is hiring AM Pastry Cooks for our Carbone team!

We are looking for experienced individuals with a strong work ethic to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
  • Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
  • Come up with recipe ideas from scratch
  • Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
  • Oversee a team of junior pastry cooks and other staff members as necessary
  • Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
  • Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
  • Culinary diploma with a concentration in Pastry Arts or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
  • Team-orientated and positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills a must
Compensation: $22.00-$24.00 Hourly

The restaurant pays homage to the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century in New York, where delicious, exceptionally well-prepared food was served in settings that were simultaneously elegant, comfortable and unpretentious.
