What you’ll do:

The Prep Cook position will be responsible for the following:

  • Demonstrate punctuality by arriving and departing on time; accurately clock in and out for each shift
  • Dress appropriately and in proper attire according to our uniform guidelines.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation guidelines for health and food safety with an up to date ServSafe certificate.
  • Advanced knife skills.
  • Lead trainer for new prep cooks and cooks. Aid and assist the chef with training tasks as directed.
  • Must follow all recipes closely and abide by the standards set forth by the company.
  • Assist with daily inventory maintenance while following the prep list closely and communicating to chefs progress made and items needing completion.
  • Work with and abide by prep lists. Ask for guidance from chefs when needed.
  • Must maintain professional, hygienic appearance.
  • Label/date all M.E.P. and maintain an organized FIFO’d walk-in.
  • Help unload deliveries and place them in appropriate storage areas.
  • Complete opening and closing duties in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Must follow break policies in effect at this location in accordance with California Labor laws.
  • Upkeep sanitation and cleaning standards by following procedures and using proper checklists.
  • Work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented, respectful mentality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
