Back of House Manager – Restaurant, Bakery & Catering

The Medici on 57th is a large high-volume restaurant, bakery, and catering company that has been a staple of the Hyde Park community since 1962. From our busy restaurant and artisan bakery to our thriving catering division, quality and care are at the heart of everything we do. Position Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced and hands-on Back of House Manager to lead our high-volume restaurant, bakery, and catering operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in leading, organizing, and inspiring others to deliver excellence every day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate all back-of-house operations across restaurant, bakery, and catering departments
  • Manage, train, and motivate a large team (up to 70 employees)
  • Develop and execute production plans to meet operational and quality goals
  • Handle food and supply ordering, inventory control, and cost management
  • Prepare and manage employee schedules and payroll
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, and health standards
  • Work closely with the General Manager to maintain efficiency, consistency, and team morale
Qualifications:
  • Proven management experience in a high-volume food service operation
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive under pressure
  • Experience in production planning and inventory management preferred
  • Culinary experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Committed to maintaining a positive and professional workplace
Compensation:

Competitive and commensurate with experience

General Manager
