Sous Chef – Popular Steakhouse
Wildly successful renowned steakhouse is seeking a skilled Sous Chef with extensive experience in a high-volume, upscale chophouse environment. Featuring elevated American cuisine served in a luxurious Hollywood setting, this restaurant has built a loyal following and a longstanding team with low turnover. Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Ensure all dishes consistently meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Proper ordering, receiving, and inventory management, minimizing waste
- Collaborate with and support the culinary management team
- Lead, mentor and coach a strong culinary team, including hands-on support in the kitchen
- Foster a positive, work environment via clear, professional communication with other employees and managers
- Uphold best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen to assure compliance with local health department and company standard
Sous Chef Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience as a Sous Chef, Exec Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager in a high-volume kitchen doing at least 250 covers a night
- Proven background in respected steakhouse settings
- Strong grill and broiler experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment
- Expert knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and equipment maintenance
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation includes:
- Base salary in the $80-90k range
- 100% Medical coverage for individual
- PTO plan
- Bonus plan
