Job Details
PRESS Restaurant celebrates Napa Valley — the people, the ingredients, and the wines. PRESS is a place for locals, winemakers, vintners, and guests from around the world to experience the best the Napa Valley has to offer — it is this sense of community that is at the heart of everything PRESS does.

Recipient of one Michelin star and Wine Spectator’s Grand Award since 2022, PRESS continues to define Napa Valley dining at the highest level. We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our team and uphold the standards that have earned PRESS its reputation as one of California’s premier dining destinations.

The Role
The General Manager is the cornerstone of the guest experience, responsible for inspiring, leading, and developing a world-class front-of-house team. This individual will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef, Beverage Director, and Managing Partners to deliver an impeccable and cohesive service that reflects the spirit of Napa Valley hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and elevate both front- and back-of-house teams to deliver a consistently elevated experience.
  • Cultivate future leaders through mentorship, structured feedback, and thoughtful training programs.
  • Cultivate an atmosphere of genuine warmth, refined elegance, and discreet service, offering hospitality that feels effortless and never pretentious.
  • Maintain mastery of fine-dining etiquette, tableside service, pacing, and flow; actively manage reservations and the dining room.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and revenue optimization.
  • Support wine service and maintain an expert understanding of our award-winning wine program.
  • Stay informed on global fine-dining trends, sustainability practices, and evolving guest expectations to keep PRESS at the forefront of innovation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of front-of-house management experience in a fine-dining environment.
  • Leadership experience in a Michelin-starred or Relais & Châteaux property strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of luxury service standards, guest relations, and team dynamics.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in financial management and operational strategy.
  • A poised, polished, and personable leader with a natural command of the dining room.

Part of PRESS // Understudy

Press restaurant creates a sense of place in the heart of Napa Valley through it's celebration of the cuisine, wine and hospitality that make this beautiful wine region a unique and special place.

Led by Chef Philip Tessier, Bocuse d'Argent 2015 (candidate) & Bocuse d'Or 2017 (coach), the Michelin 1-Star cuisine is inspired by the many local farms and purveyors who provide incredible produce and quality ingredients. Combined with flawless technique and a team-focused kitchen, Press is an excellent formative experience for a young chef looking to refine their skills and work among the best.

PRESS has been awarded a "Grand Award" by Wine Spectator since 2022. Our cellars boast the largest collection of Napa Valley wines and showcases the history and depth of this extraordinary wine region.
