Palma is a beloved, family-owned Italian restaurant in the West Village known for heartfelt hospitality, timeless cuisine, and a warm, intimate setting. We are looking for a gracious, detail-oriented Host to be the first and last point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience.
Position Overview:As Host, you’ll be responsible for creating a warm, seamless welcome for every guest, managing reservations and walk-ins with care, and supporting overall flow and service on the floor. You’ll work closely with the management team and service staff to ensure an organized, hospitable front-of-house experience.
Responsibilities:-
Greet all guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality

Manage the reservation book and walk-ins using Open Table (or similar platform)

Organize and control seating flow to optimize table turns and guest experience

Communicate clearly with floor managers, service team, and kitchen regarding pacing and special needs

Handle guest inquiries, requests, and special occasions with care and discretion

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the host stand and entry area

Support coat check and phone coverage as needed

1+ year experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant preferred

Comfortable working with Open Table or similar reservation systems

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Polished, professional appearance and demeanor

Ability to stay calm, organized, and positive during busy service

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($16.50 - $18.50) plus tips
