Niku X is a modern Japanese steakhouse offering elevated wagyu experiences, seasonal ingredients, and a luxurious yet dynamic dining environment in the heart of Manhattan. We take pride in our precision, creativity, and commitment to excellence.

We are currently seeking dependable and skilled Sushi Line Cooks and Prep Cooks to join our dynamic back-of-house team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, refined, and team-driven kitchen that blends traditional Japanese techniques with modern execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute food prep and cooking with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Ensure proper station setup before, during, and after service
  • Follow recipes and plating standards consistently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas
  • Comply with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and teammates to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with inventory and receiving deliveries when needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Sushi Line Cook experience (fine dining or Japanese cuisine a plus)
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a high-volume kitchen
  • Punctual, reliable, and a team player
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
