Job Description:
A successful Server Assistant contributes significantly to a positive dining experience for our guests by demonstrating attentiveness to both guests and fellow team members. Key responsibilities of this role include efficiently clearing and cleaning tables, booths, and chairs, as well as promptly removing used dishes. Bussers also play a crucial support role for the serving staff and bartenders by setting tables, refilling beverages, and ensuring table settings are readily available. On occasion, they may also assist in serving food and drinks. We are looking for busser candidates who are professional, friendly, and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of customer service.

This is a part-time position, primarily for Friday and Saturday evening shifts, with the opportunity for additional weekday shifts in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome all guests and ensure guests receive responsive, professional, and gracious service
  •  Maintain table maintenance throughout guest experience
  •  Effectively communicate with Servers, Bartenders, and Barbacks to always ensure the wants and needs of guests are fulfilled.
  • Set up any seasonal decorations, candles, or table cloths.
  • Serve water to guests and refill beverage glasses as needed.
  • Place and replace silverware as needed. Deliver beverages from the bartender as needed.
  •  Stock serving stations with napkins, utensils, trays, condiments, and salt and pepper containers.
  •   Remove guests' dirty dishes and utensils.
  •   Deliver used dishes and utensils to the kitchen for cleaning.
  •   Assist dishwashers to scrape, stack, or load dishes into the dishwasher as needed.
  •  Clean up guest spills as needed.
  •  Direct guests to restrooms or exits as needed.
  •  Clear tables as guests complete their meals and prepare tables for next guests.
  •  Follow and maintain all sanitation and safety procedures.
  •  Perform closing activities such as cleaning chairs and tables, stacking chairs, preparing stations for the morning shift.
  • Additional duties may include assisting kitchen staff with preparing ingredients and cleaning kitchen surfaces.
  • Performs all side work applicable to assigned station.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Work Skills and Qualifications:
  • Move and clean quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Friendly, polite, and courteous to all guests
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
  • Excellent at verbal communication.
  •  Works well and efficiently under pressure.
  •  Eager to learn and grow with the restaurant.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
