We’ve reimagined INDAY All Day into INDAY’s Bar & Restaurant, a neighborhood restaurant & bar designed for connection. The menu celebrates bold, shareable flavors—from Tandoori Eggplant with Stracciatella to DIY Lamb Curry Tacos and Tandoori Chicken—rooted in INDAY’s spirit of Good Karma and hospitality.

We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead daily back-of-house operations and uphold our high standards for food, consistency, and culture. This role is perfect for someone who loves the energy of service, takes pride in systems and training, and thrives on creating a positive, organized kitchen environment. To succeed, you must be a strong communicator in both English and Spanish and a natural team builder.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead daily kitchen operations—from prep and line setup to service and close.
  • Train, coach, and develop kitchen team members; foster a culture of accountability, respect, and hospitality.
  • Uphold DOH standards, cleanliness, and organization at all times.
  • Manage ordering, inventory, prep lists, and waste control to meet food cost and labor targets.
  • Conduct daily line checks and tastings to ensure recipe accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain and improve kitchen systems (cooling logs, order guides, production schedules).
  • Collaborate with leadership and the culinary team on menu execution and seasonal updates.
  • Lead by example on the line during peak shifts (Thursday–Monday from 12pm - 10pm).
  • Partner with the General Manager to ensure smooth communication between FOH and BOH.
Who You Are
  • 3–5+ years of kitchen leadership experience (fine-casual or full-service).
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a multicultural team.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable in managing systems and standards.
  • Strong communicator—able to lead and train in Spanish and English.
  • Calm under pressure; leads from the line and models excellence.
  • Familiar with inventory, scheduling, and labor management tools.
  • DOH Food Safety Certificate required.
  • Experience with Indian flavors a big plus, but not required.
Why you’ll love working Here
  • Be part of redefining a neighborhood restaurant with a bold culinary vision.
  • Join a passionate, entrepreneurial team that values creativity, connection, and growth.
  • Competitive salary and bonus opportunities
  • Full benefits: health, dental, vision (75% company-paid), 401(k) with matching, commuter benefits.
  • Paid time off and holiday closures (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Day).
  • Staff meals and a supportive team culture where your work truly makes an impact.
Job Details
  • Job Type: Full-time (50 hours per week, 5 shifts, Thursday–Monday).
  • Shift: 10-hour shifts, evenings and weekends.
  • Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn (in-person)
  • Must be able to legally work in the US. We do not provide any relocation benefits or visa support

Part of INDAY

INDAY’s mission is to add joy and connection to daily life by celebrating the beauty and breadth of Indian cooking.

Informed by ancient Ayurvedic philosophy, Indian food cultures around the world, and modern urban living, our offerings uplift and nourish your body and spirit. Ranging from home-cooked recipes to newer interpretations of classic dishes, our menu features fire roasted kebabs, homemade breads, warming curries, fresh salads, and memorable drinks.

INDAY’s approach to menu and service are guided by the concept of food karma: how your food is sourced, who cooks it and where it is served all impacts how you feel. The focus is not only on sustainable sourcing and healthful cooking, but also daily rituals and mindfulness practices that benefit the well-being of our team.

Founded by native New Yorker Basu Ratnam, whose Kolkata-born mother and Hyderbadi father instilled traditional values and ancient practices into his bustling contemporary life, INDAY brings the Indian offering to your daily routine.

Visit us at INDAY Express our modern fast casual restaurants or INDAY All Day, our full service sit-down restaurant.
