Come join the team at GERTIE - a modern Jew-ish Delicatessen and Appetizing shop. We take inspiration from classic Jewish Delis, New York's treasured diners, and corner bagel shops. We serve breakfast and lunch every day alongside housemade bagels, pastries, and smoked fish. We have a small, but passionate team and as we grow are looking for the right candidate to grow with us.
We are currently seeking a full time baker. Duties of the Baker includes (but not limited to):
- Daily bagel baking and production
- Inventory control of all baked goods and ingredients
- An ability to perform prep work in a timely fashion
- Operating, maintaining, and properly cleaning kitchen equipment
- Working efficiently with a constant sense of urgency
- Adhering to all federal, local, and company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Assisting other team members as needed or when business needs dictate

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Climbing steps regularly
