We are looking for a fired up hospitality professional to be an Assistant General Manager for K’Far in Brooklyn! Meaning ‘village’ in Hebrew, K’Far is an Israeli bakery & café inspired by the food, energy and warmth of Israeli bakeries. Following the smashing success of their first collaboration, Laser Wolf - Brooklyn, CooknSolo restaurants and Boka Restaurant Group opened K'Far in November 2022.
K'Far offers Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner with dishes first experienced by Chef Mike Solomonov at his very first kitchen job outside of Tel Aviv, K’Far Saba, K’Far’s menu features Israeli pastries – such as borekas with Bulgarian feta, chocolate rugelach, and babka – a lunch menu of salads, grain bowls, toasts made with traditional Yemenite Kubaneh bread and pressed Jerusalem Bagel sandwiches – and an equally versatile and homestyle-dinner menu. Beverage-wise, K'Far offers a full coffee drink menu and cocktails with nods to Israel.
The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for:
- Service duties such as delivering comfortable-with-strong-attention-to-detail service to guests, opening and closing tasks, daily walk-throughs and executing and assisting with pre-shift meetings
- Manage staff education programming, including maintaining overall training schedule, preparing training materials, messaging to team members, and managing day-of training sessions
- Assistance with scheduling, inventory, and department-specific ordering
- Lead and mentor service managers by providing hands-on training and constructive feedback throughout service and during non-operational planning
- Work closely with Hotel Management Team to ensure proper communication between team members, and that the needs of all guests are met
Physical requirements include:
- Ability to lift and move up to 25lbs
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs and uneven/sometimes slick surfaces
