Loco Pez Mexican taqueria restaurant and bar on the corner of 47th and Baltimore Ave, is hiring an experienced Executive Chef to join our management team. We are looking for highly qualified, goal-driven individuals who share in our passion for simple, delicious, approachable Tex-Mex cuisine. Our menu is almost entirely scratch made using traditional Mexican recipes.
The Executive Chef is responsible for management of all kitchen functions including purchasing, cost control, preparation, sanitation, cleanliness, staffing, training, and maintaining standards of quality.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, sous chef, and expediter.
- Experience with Mexican cooking not essential but helpful.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Possess strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Must work well in fast-paced setting.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Clear understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 50 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
- Job will entail evening and weekend hours.
The Executive Chef reports to Ownership.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Additional compensation includes health care benefits, vision & dental group coverage and paid time off.
