Our taprooms in East Falls and Olde Kensington have become favorite destinations for locals and visitors alike, and we’re now putting the finishing touches on our third taproom in the heart of Maple Glen.

The Maple Glen taproom will be a welcoming neighborhood spot to unwind over a cold pint or cocktail. It will feature a wood-fired brick pizza oven and a full kitchen menu that hits all the happy-hour and gameday favorites — plus plenty of options for a great date night.

General Manager Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Front of House / Taproom Manager to lead the startup and Grand Opening of the Maple Glen taproom, and to oversee daily operations well into the future. This leadership role reports directly to the brewery’s family ownership and works closely with the Executive Chef. The Front of House / Taproom Manager is responsible for delivering a top-tier guest experience while managing staff, operations, and overall facility upkeep.

Schedule: Full Time, Wednesday-Sunday

Compensation: $58,000-$65,000/yr including health, vision, & dental benefits, PTO.

Key Responsibilities:

Taproom Operations & Customer Experience

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the taproom is clean, organized, and inviting.
  • Uphold taproom policies and procedures related to service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and décor.
  • Identify and recommend operational improvements and revenue opportunities to ownership.
  • Communicate issues promptly to ownership.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Manage staff schedules to ensure efficient shift coverage.
  • Coach, counsel, and reward staff to maintain a motivated, high-performing team.
  • Foster a culture of positivity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Inventory & Vendor Management

  • Maintain accurate records of beer transfers from cold storage to the taproom.
  • Update the digital drinks menu, POS system, and online beer store.
  • Monitor and restock consumable items; conduct cost analysis for potential savings.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and perform cost comparisons for service providers.

Marketing & Promotions

  • Collaborate with marketing to promote events, specials, and new products across media platforms.
  • Ensure staff product knowledge for all drinks on tap.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance on bar equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience in a bar or restaurant management role.
  • ServSafe and RAMP Certifications.
  • Team Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Self-Directed and Reliable: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to shifting priorities quickly.
  • Customer-Focused Mindset: Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Tech Proficiency: Skilled in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 60 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Driver’s License: Valid U.S. driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with bar or restaurant startup.
  • Experience with event planning & programming.
  • Familiarity with craft beer industry trends.
 

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($62,000.00 - $68,000.00)
