Position Summary
We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Server to join our leadership team at Shy Shy. This role is ideal for a service professional who leads with integrity, thrives in a team environment, and has a deep passion for hospitality and martinis!
The Lead Server will work closely with our Lead Bartender, Assistant General Manager (Service Manager), and Director of Operations to uphold and evolve Shy Shy’s standards of service. This position plays a key role in leading the service team on the floor, training new hires, and ensuring each shift runs seamlessly.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the floor, setting the tone for professionalism, pace, and guest connection.
- Collaborate with management to ensure smooth, efficient, and elevated service execution.
- Oversee the training of new team members and play an active role in developing the existing service team through feedback, guidance, and example.
- Communicate effectively with the bar and kitchen teams to ensure accurate and timely service.
- Provide feedback and coaching to help maintain a positive, high-performing team environment.
- Handle guest interactions with warmth, attentiveness, and problem-solving confidence.
Requirements
- 3+ years of NYC restaurant or cocktail-bar experience in a senior or leadership service role.
- Proven ability to lead by example and support a team dynamic.
- Passion for hospitality, food, and cocktails.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor and reliability.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
- $17.65 per hour + tips (includes $7/hr leadership premium).
