Jr & Son is a vibrant Italian Tavern in the heart of Williamsburg, helmed by Chef Patricia Vega. Known for its warm, bustling dinner service and lively neighborhood energy, Jr & Son blends elevated Italian tavern fare with a convivial, come-as-you-are atmosphere. We are seeking a hands-on, service-driven Manager to lead our front-of-house team. We are looking for someone who thrives on the floor, leads by example, and cultivates a supportive, high-performance environment for our staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a consistent, hands-on presence during service to ensure smooth operations, impeccable guest experiences, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
- Greet and engage guests, handle any concerns with grace, and ensure service aligns with the restaurant’s high standards. Cultivate regulars and a neighborhood presence.
- Manage, mentor, and motivate the FOH team, fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and enthusiasm.
- Oversee daily service execution, cleanliness, and ambiance. Ensure all operational systems, including Resy and Toast, are effectively managed.
- Collaborate with the bar team to ensure consistency, creativity, and excellence in the bar program. Oversee bar program. Prior bar management experience is strongly preferred.
- Handle scheduling, payroll, cash management, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Model and uphold Jr & Son’s values of care and neighborhood hospitality, ensuring a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of management experience, ideally in a high-volume, full-service restaurant with a strong bar program.
- Proven ability to lead by example, mentor staff, and maintain high morale.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for guest relations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high-pressure service environments with confidence and composure.
- Familiarity with Resy and Toast systems.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A genuine love for Italian food, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs, go up and down stairs, and stand for extended periods.
