Nettare is a dynamic bar and restaurant located in the heart of Ukrainian Village, Chicago. Our mission is to create a singular, intimate guest experience in which our chef-driven cuisine and curated beverage program are seamlessly integrated and play off of each other.

More than just a dining establishment, we are dedicated to building a sustainable, supportive, and successful work environment. We are seeking a General Manager (GM) who shares our vision to lead our operation and partner directly with the Owner/Creative Director.

You will join an experienced and dedicated team with strong leadership already in place across the Kitchen, Bar, and Front of House. Your primary role is to serve as the strategic conductor—the person who keeps the big picture in frame, ensuring all departments are aligned, and our systems support profitable growth and our commitment to work/life balance.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As the GM, you are the strategic leader of Nettare. Your focus will be on alignment, systems development, and profitable growth.

  • Strategic Oversight & Departmental Alignment: Act as the big-picture integrator, ensuring seamless communication and operational harmony across the entire concept—from the kitchen to the bar—to maintain our integrated food and drink experience.

  • Establish Standards & Systems: Design and implement comprehensive, high-level operational systems and training programs that empower our departmental leaders. Your focus is on systemizing success and maintaining quality without the need for constant, task-level supervision.

  • Business Reporting & Analytics: Manage all critical business operations, including P&L oversight, labor cost control, inventory management, and sophisticated sales reporting. Use data to inform strategic decisions and drive sustainable profitability.

  • Culture & Sustainability: Champion and maintain a positive, collaborative culture committed to our core mission of work/life balance and operational sustainability. This includes mentoring department heads and optimizing scheduling practices.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications

  • Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in restaurant management, ideally in a chef-driven, fine-casual, or high-volume bar environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement scalable operational systems and high-level training programs.

  • A strong foundation in restaurant financial reporting, cost control, and business analytics (P&L, inventory, labor).

  • Exceptional communication skills and comfort leading experienced managers by providing strategic directionrather than task-level supervision.

  • A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating a healthier, more sustainable work environmentin the industry.
