Under the direction of Chef Aitor Zabala and the General Manager, we are seeking exceptional hospitality professionals to join our team as Assistant Sommeliers / Captains. This hybrid role combines the precision and warmth of world-class service with deep wine and beverage knowledge, helping us deliver an unparalleled dining experience to our guests.
Responsibilities

Provide warm, humble, and knowledgeable service throughout the property.

Greet and escort guests, ensuring comfort and attentiveness at every step.

Manage all aspects of service execution including mise en place, wine and beverage pairings, guest satisfaction, and cleanliness.

Deliver precise and thoughtful wine service and non-alcoholic pairings, supporting the Sommelier team.

Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and colleagues.

Maintain impeccable table and dining room standards during service.

Attend daily lineup meetings and contribute to the continued education of food, beverage, and hospitality.

Act as a mentor and role model to new team members.

Represent Somni with professionalism, inspiring both colleagues and guests.

Perform opening and closing duties, and step in where needed to uphold service standards.
Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in fine dining or Michelin-starred restaurants.

Strong wine knowledge (Level 1 CMS or equivalent experience recommended).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Professional demeanor, ability to take direction, and thrive under pressure.

Self-motivated, organized, and committed to genuine hospitality.

Flexibility and willingness to support all aspects of service.

Valid Food Handler Certificate and Responsible Beverage Service Certification.

Understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).

Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 35 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.

Ability to work evenings, holidays, and extended hours as needed.

Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors (patio service).
