About Eight North
Eight North is the newest destination in downtown Calistoga, created by the mother-daughter team behind Lawer Estates. Our space brings together a full-service all-day restaurant, dedicated wine tasting lounge, lively bar program, and private event spaces—all celebrating the best of Calistoga’s producers, artisans, and community. With a focus on integrity, hospitality, community, and legacy (our North Stars), we’re redefining what it means to dine, gather, and celebrate in wine country.

The Role
We’re seeking a General Manager to set the tone for Eight North’s culture, lead a passionate hospitality team, and establish our restaurant, bar, tasting, and events program as a must-visit destination for both locals and visitors.
This is not just a management role—it’s an opportunity to build a brand, mentor future leaders, and shape a legacy. The GM will balance daily operations with long-term vision, overseeing everything from FOH execution to creative promotion of our culinary and beverage programs, private events, and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Culture
    • Hire, train, and mentor a dynamic team that fosters collaboration and service excellence.
    • Lead by example with a polished, approachable presence that embodies 8N hospitality.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee all FOH operations across restaurant, bar, wine tasting, and private events.
    • Manage scheduling, Tock, POS (Toast), cash handling, compliance, and safety standards.
    • Partner with ownership and the Executive Chef to ensure seamless BOH/FOH integration.
  • Financial Oversight
    • Manage budgets, P&L, labor costs, and vendor relationships.
    • Implement systems that balance guest experience with profitability.
  • Guest & Brand Engagement
    • Elevate Eight North’s visibility through events, catering, and partnerships.
    • Find creative ways to promote our wine, food, and hospitality programs.
    • Maintain a warm, professional atmosphere that reflects the brand’s ethos.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive hospitality management experience (restaurant/wine/event preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and food programs.
  • Proven track record in HR, staff development, and team leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, financial management, and communication skills.
  • ServSafe Manager & Responsible Beverage Service certifications (required). First Aid certification (preferred).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine passion for creating meaningful guest experiences.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires (scheduled days off: Tuesdays & Wednesdays).
