POSITION OVERVIEW

The Receiver is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and organizing all incoming deliveries of food, and supplies. This role ensures that all products meet quality and safety standards and are properly stored in accordance with food safety guidelines and restaurant procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and inspect all deliveries for accuracy, quality, quantity, and damage.
  • Verify shipments against invoices, purchase orders, and delivery logs.
  • Ensure all perishable items are stored immediately in appropriate conditions (refrigeration, freezer, dry storage).
  • Report and document any discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages.
  • Label and date all received products following FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in receiving, storage, and inventory areas.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels, including weekly/monthly counts.
  • Communicate with vendors and management regarding delivery issues or inventory concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Operate pallet jacks or other equipment safely (if required).
  • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in food receiving, inventory, or a related role is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) and work in cold environments.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Must support and promote a culture of inclusiveness, respect, and a positive employee experience.
  • Results-oriented and able to drive the process of converting an idea into production.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs at times.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Climbing steps regularly. Prolonged periods standing.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this position is 17.00 – 23.00 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
