NoHo Hospitality is seeking Bartenders to join the opening team at Café Carmellini in The Fifth Avenue Hotel.
Café Carmellini is the signature restaurant from James Beard Award-winning chef Andrew Carmellini. The name Café Carmellini is a nod to the Carmellini family’s coffee importing business in Tuscany that thrived for 120 years. Here Chef Carmellini distills his 30-year career cooking in New York City into an extraordinary dining experience while marking his return to fine dining: his food marries Italian and French cooking to a classic New York feel and a modern vibe.
Chef Carmellini’s menu draws on various sources of inspiration: some of his dishes are an ode to a place or to his family history, while others are platonic ideals that have been perfected over the years. The wine program is curated by Master Sommelier Josh Nadel and features a unique, comprehensive 1,800-bottle wine list featuring acclaimed Italian, French, American and other worldly producers. The design of Café Carmellini imbues the landmark building’s original neoclassical architecture with maximalist style, channeling stately Old New York elegance. Café Carmellini features a welcoming kitchen, an intimate bar, two grand sculptural trees, and balconies offering tete-a-tete dining experiences with a view of the action.
Ideal candidates possess:
*Warm and gracious service approach, and the ability to create stellar guest experiences
*High level functioning and poised demeanor in busy environments
*Strong knowledge of spirits and craft cocktails, with an emphasis on European and American ingredients
*Familiarity with progressive, trend-setting & contemporary distillates and liqueurs
*Experience in bar organization & prep
*Ability to assume full responsibility for menu content and deliver excellent service
*Previous experience with POS and inventory systems
*The ability to lift 25+ pounds
*Comfortable speaking in front of a large group
*Open availability and career driven
