POSITION SUMMARY

The Beverage Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all beverage services within the Club.  This includes leadership of the bar team, oversight of beverage procurement and supplier management, inventory control and ensuring the delivery of a consistent, high-quality beverage service in line with the Club’s standards.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide effective leadership, training, and performance management for the bar team to ensure service excellence and compliance with Club policies.
  • Oversee daily bar operations across all outlets, maintaining consistency in service standards, efficiency, and member satisfaction. 
  • Collaborate with F&B leadership to curate thoughtful selections for the bar and wine programs. 
  • Manage the procurement of wines, spirits and related products, including supplier negotiations, purchasing, and maintain appropriate stock levels. 
  • Maintain an effective inventory management system, implementing cost-control measures and ensuring accurate reporting. 
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage leadership team to align beverage offerings with Club events, dining menus, and member expectations. 
  • Ensure adherence to all licensing, health & safety and regulatory requirements related to bar operations.  
  • Design and deliver beverage education programs for bar staff, service teams and other relevant departments to strengthen knowledge and service standards. 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Reports directly to the Food & Beverage Director / Club Director 
  • Works closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team, Events team, Finance team to ensure alignment of beverage operations with broader club objectives.  
  • External: Beverage suppliers, distributors and brand representatives, maintaining strong professional relationships and secure favorable terms of trade. 

QUALITIFCATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

Experience and Technical Skills 

  • Demonstrated experience as a Beverage Manager, Bar Manager or equivalent leadership role within a private member’s club, luxury hotel, or high-profile hospitality environment. 
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with proven experience in building and developing high-performing teams. 
  • In depth knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and industry best practices in beverage service.
  • Proficiency in supplier management, negotiation, and cost control. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and P&L responsibility 
  • Professional discretion when working with high-profile clientele. 
  • WSET certification or equivalent qualification desirable.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and during special events in alignment with club operations. 
  • Active presence on the floor during service 
  • Closing shifts throughout the week 
  • Participation in staff training tastings, and professional development opportunities as required. 
  • Adherence to all health, safety, licensing regulations 


Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($90,000.00 - $95,000.00)
