Lead Captain

Birdsong is a two Michelin–starred restaurant in San Francisco, where Chef Chris Bleidorn’s cooking celebrates heritage cuisine with a deep sense of place.

We’re looking for a Lead Captain who’s excited to help shape the guest experience each night—and to keep building on the strong, close-knit dining room team we’ve grown.

The role
As the Lead Captain, you will be a key leader on the floor, responsible for upholding Birdsong’s standards of service while creating a warm, confident atmosphere of hospitality. This role blends hands-on service with team leadership and operational ownership.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Training and coaching dining room staff
• Scheduling and day-to-day leadership
• Overseeing and elevating the guest experience
• Onboarding new team members
• Inventory, upkeep, and maintenance responsibilities
• Clear, consistent communication between the kitchen and dining room

Interview process
Our process includes an in-person meeting, followed by an observational stage.
