Role: Team Member / Porter

Brown Bag Sandwich Co. is the first chopped sandwich concept in NYC. As a startup, we're looking for dedicated individuals who are excited to grow and evolve with us. We are looking for a porter to help re-stock, maintain, and manage the cleanliness and organization of the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sanitation and Hygiene: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the prep area, customer-facing area, dishpit, basement, and outside the shop.
- Dishwashing and maintaining organization of the dishpit
- Re-organizing the basement based on standards
- Unpacking deliveries, including but not limited to Amazon deliveries & wholesale deliveries.
- Deep cleaning all areas of the shop
- Mopping and sweeping floors in the kitchen, basement, bathroom
- Re-stocking and beautifying the store on an as-needed basis
- Contributing to food prep on an as-needed basis according to recipe standards and specifications.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and ensuring a safe working environment
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including slicers, mixers, and knives, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to coordinate prep tasks and support a smooth workflow throughout service hours.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy items.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
- Contribute to the overall success of the startup by being adaptable and willing to take on new tasks as needed.

Hours & Pay:
- 25-35 hours per week
- Flexibility in scheduling. In addition to week-days, availability to work weekends (i.e Saturdays / Sundays.)
- $20-22 (includes tips)
