About Niche Food Group
Niche Food Group is a multi‑concept restaurant group with 10 distinct concepts. We’re looking for a hands‑on Director of Finance who can partner with operations, translate numbers into action, and help us scale smartly.

Role Overview

Reporting monthly to Ownership and the COO, the Director of Finance will own daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting, ensure data accuracy across locations and concepts, and communicate clear, actionable insights to directors and managers.

What You’ll Do
  • Daily / Weekly / Monthly cadence

    • Compile and distribute daily labor and sales reports by location and concept.

    • Produce weekly financial summaries with key drivers, trends, and variance explanations.

    • Lead the monthly close and prepare P&Ls (by location and concept) and consolidated reports.

  • Operational partnership

    • Translate financials into clear, practical guidance for directors and managers; drive follow‑up actions.

    • Track labor, COGS, prime cost, and other KPIs; flag risks and opportunities early.

    • Present monthly financial results and recommendations to Ownership and the COO.

  • Systems & process

    • Maintain data integrity across POS/accounting systems; reconcile sales, deposits, payroll, AP/AR as needed.

    • Improve reporting templates, dashboards, and close processes for speed and accuracy.

    • Support budgeting/forecasting, cash flow visibility, and scenario analysis for new initiatives.

  • Restaurant‑specific responsibilities (added)

    • Ensure sales and payroll tax filings are timely and accurate.

    • Maintain cash‑handling controls; oversee credit card and gift card reconciliation.

    • Align inventory and COGS processes with BOH; monitor tip and overtime compliance with operations/HR.

    • Manage multi‑entity consolidations and intercompany activity across the 10 concepts, as applicable.

Work Expectations
  • Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday with occasional evenings/weekends for period close or on‑site support.

  • Onsite presence: This role is St. Louis–based and not remote; regular visits to restaurants and the support office are expected.

  • Local travel: Routine travel between St. Louis–area locations; reliable transportation required.

What You’ll Bring
  • Financial software proficiency is required; Restaurant365 (R365) experience is a strong plus.

  • Solid grasp of basic accounting (journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, P&L ownership).

  • Restaurant or hospitality background preferred (multi‑unit experience a plus).

  • Clear, concise communicator who can tailor the message for non‑financial operators and drive action.

  • Team player with a service‑oriented mindset and a bias toward action.
