Role: Dishwasher
Location: New York City (One Fifth)
Reports to: Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and other FOH Managers
Position Summary
The Dishwasher plays a vital role in the Golden Steer NYC kitchen, ensuring that the back of house runs smoothly by keeping all equipment, dishware, and kitchen tools clean, sanitized, and ready for service. You’ll help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, supporting the entire kitchen and service team in delivering a world-class steakhouse experience.
Key Responsibilities

Dishwashing & Sanitation: Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils consistently throughout service.

Equipment Handling: Operate dish machines safely and maintain them according to training and standards.

Organization & Cleanliness: Keep dish area, floors, and trash/recycling zones clean and orderly at all times.

Stocking & Support: Return clean dishware and equipment to proper stations; assist cooks and servers as needed.

Food Safety: Follow all NYC DOH sanitation and HACCP guidelines for dishwashing and back-of-house cleanliness.

Team Collaboration: Support fellow kitchen staff and step in to help with prep or other tasks when needed.

Experience & Qualifications (Must-Haves)

Prior experience as a dishwasher or porter in a restaurant preferred, but not required.

Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical stamina to stand, bend, and move for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

English required; Spanish a plus.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements

Stand and move quickly for 8–10 hours.

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.

Nights, weekends, and holidays required.
Compensation & Benefits
