Line Cook

Queen & Rook Game Cafe is in search of upbeat Line Cooks to join us at our board game cafe in Queen Village, Philadelphia. 

**Qualified candidates for the line cook positions must have one or more years’ experience as a line cook in fast-paced, high volume kitchens **

Queen & Rook Game Cafe is a full service casual restaurant with a liquor license and 2000 + board games. Our menu focuses on plant-based American bar standards and wood fired pizza .
 

Proper food handling and sanitation procedures must be followed at all times. A valid Serve-Safe certification is required, but can be obtained prior to starting. Proper and safe use and maintenance of all kitchen equipment is mandatory.

Duties include:

- Prepare food to order 

- Accurately follow recipes.

- Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment.

- Pre-service prep to set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.

- Organization and cleaning of kitchen areas including your station, walk-in, and dry goods pantry.

- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products.

- Report and record inventory and Prep numbers

- Follows all safe food handling procedures.

- Attention to all allergy and customer requests.

- Other duties as assigned.

Applicant should have positive energy, good attitude, be responsible, be detail oriented, be flexible, be professional, while alsostriving in a fast past and highly independent environment with a diverse cast of characters who will rely on you and will be relied on by you.

Preference given to Cooks with experience in plant-based or vegetarian cuisine.
