Bar General Manager – Bar Moon
Description
We seek a polished and dynamic Bar General Manager to lead the front-of-house and
guest experience at the soon opening Bar Moon in Post Oak. Moon is an immersive
cocktail destination where every detail — from design to service — is crafted to inspire
elegance, intrigue, and indulgence.
Bar Moon is the newest addition to The Bastion Collection, a global leader in fine dining
and luxury hospitality with a portfolio distinguished by 10 Michelin Stars and 3 Michelin
Keys since 2019.
This is a salaried leadership role responsible for FOH operations, reservations, and
guest relations, with accountability for both service and beverage programming. The Bar
General Manager will act as the face of Bar Moon, setting the tone for hospitality,
cultivating the skills of the FOH team, and ensuring seamless, elevated guest
experiences. This is also a rare opportunity to be part of the opening team, shaping the
standards and culture from day one.
Your Responsibilities:
• Act as the face of Bar Moon, warmly welcoming guests and ensuring a seamless
arrival-to-departure experience.
• Lead the FOH team, providing mentorship, coaching, and accountability to sustain Bar
Moon’s high standards.
• Inspire and motivate the service team to deliver refined hospitality while fostering
teamwork and mutual respect.
• Oversee reservations, seating flow, and guest communications, with proficiency in
OpenTable or Resy preferred.
• Cultivate guest relationships, anticipating needs and personalizing experiences to
drive loyalty.
• Direct inventory, ordering, scheduling, payroll, and bar operations with attention to
detail and cost control.
• Ensure quality control across cocktails, spirits, and service execution in collaboration
with the Lead Bartender.
• Play a hands-on role in staff training and development, ensuring the team understands
both technical execution and Bar Moon’s ethos.
• Address guest concerns with discretion and accountability.
• Maintain compliance with service standards, safety protocols, and cleanliness
requirements.
Your Qualifications:
• 3+ years of relevant leadership experience as a FOH Manager, General Manager,
Guest Experience Manager, or similar role in luxury hospitality, hotels, or nightlife.
• Proficiency with reservation platforms such as OpenTable or Resy.
• Strong awareness of the industry landscape, including critics, awards, and hospitality
trends.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to
inspire a team.
• Strong organizational skills, balancing guest relations, operations, and staff leadership.
• Must be available for a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback while thriving in a team-oriented
environment.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move through a multi-level venue, and
lift up to 50 lbs.
