Job Details
The Purple Pig is seeking line cooks that want to gain knowledge and experience in a
fast-paced, creative atmosphere, under new leadership. We are searching for hard-working
individuals with a great attitude, who are responsible for the daily preparation of all food items
that are served. A position as a Line Cook at The Purple Pig offers you a fantastic
opportunity to learn from - and work with - our Executive Chef Effy Medrano and his talented kitchen team,
with the opportunity for fantastic benefits, income and growth.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skills

 Set up station according to restaurant guidelines
 Prepare all food items for the daily menu and specials, in a sanitary and timely manner
 Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Executive
Chef
 Ability to read and interpret abbreviations on food order tickets
 Responsible for the correct food presentation of each plated item
 Restock items as needed throughout shift
 Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
 Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and all
storage areas
 Ability to work well with the team
 Possess a positive and flexible attitude
 May perform other duties, as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

 Previous prep or line cook experience in a high-volume restaurant kitchen, with morning
availability
 Knowledgeable in food sanitation and proper kitchen etiquette

Funciones, responsabilidades y habilidades esenciales

 Preparar la estación de acuerdo con las directrices del restaurante.
 Preparar todos los alimentos para el menú diario y los platos especiales, de forma higiénica y puntual.
 Seguir las recetas, el control de las raciones y las especificaciones de presentación establecidas por el chef ejecutivo.

Capacidad para leer e interpretar las abreviaturas de los tickets de pedidos de comida.
 Responsable de la correcta presentación de cada plato.
 Reponer los artículos según sea necesario durante el turno.
 Limpiar y mantener la estación practicando buenas habilidades de seguridad, higiene y organización.
 Ayudar con la limpieza, la higiene y la organización de la cocina, las cámaras frigoríficas y todas las
áreas de almacenamiento.
 Capacidad para trabajar bien en equipo.
 Poseer una actitud positiva y flexible.
 Puede realizar otras tareas que se le asignen.

Formación y/o experiencia:

 Experiencia previa como ayudante de cocina o cocinero de línea en la cocina de un restaurante de gran volumen, con disponibilidad por las mañanas.

 Conocimientos sobre higiene alimentaria y etiqueta adecuada en la cocina.

Our menu is all about seasonality too, presenting vegetarian dishes like Roasted Squash and Salt-Roasted Beets in the winter and the juiciest, sweetest tomato salads in the summer. For those who crave flavors from the sea, all through the menu, fresh seafood takes on a strong supporting role. We also offer a wide variety of creamy, soft and hard cheeses, in addition to many kinds of charcuterie and well-chosen wines by the glass or bottle in every price range.
