The NoMad Bar in Wynwood Miami is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Head Bartender to join our team. Overview of Role

Head Bartenders are responsible for everything that occurs behind the bar during service. Head Bartenders set the example for the rest of the bar team, showing the highest standards in hospitality, technique and menu knowledge.
Head Bartenders approach their work with an unmatched sense of empathy, patience and attention to detail. They act as a link between management and the rest of the bar team and ensures that protocol is being followed while always focusing on morale and guest experience. Head Bartenders are caring and approachable, while showing grace and calm under pressure.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
Head Bartenders are responsible for creating an environment behind the bar in which bartenders and barbacks can progress. They are responsible for everything a bartender needs to know while also displaying a heightened sense of leadership and creativity. They should set an atmosphere of ease, comfort, and fun for the team, while also promoting excellence and passion. They are expected to be collaborative, creative, and understand modern concepts and trends.
Head Bartenders will be working together and share these responsibilities and expectations: Mentoring, Training, R&D, Educations, Menu Concepts, Ordering, Counting Inventory, Bar Organization, and reporting Maintenance Issues.
Head Bartenders have a complete yet ever-expanding knowledge of classic cocktails, proprietary cocktails, wines by the glass, spirits, beer, coffee and tea. All Head Bartenders must have a disciplined approach to studying and be fluent in all levels of beverage information. This includes but is not limited to spirit knowledge, cocktail history and timeline, classic cocktails, the Miami cocktail scene and recognizing industry professionals.

MISE EN PLACE:
As a Head Bartender, you have a specific set of responsibilities when you set up and bread down the bar for service as outlined in the side work binder. This can include a verity of elements such as garnish, syrup production, and getting the bar detailed to receive guests.

SERVICE:
Head Bartenders must be able to explain and discuss all food dishes available as well as prepare and execute all proprietary and classic cocktails a guest may order. They must be able to perform traditional wine service, pour beer correctly respective to style, understand proper preparation of coffee and tea and be able to describe to guests the theory between all our beverage programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High level of technical bartending
• Good knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and non – alcoholic beverages
• Experience in working in teams
• Personable with a good attitude
• Able to communicate effectively in English through email and speaking
• Able to work long hours and handle a high-volume environment
