Event Captain at Maxwell Social
You’re the event captain who runs member-hosted gatherings in a members-only space where people cook for themselves and pour their own drinks. No restaurant kitchen or bartenders. Your job is flow, safety, timing, and guest experience, not cooking or bar service.
Role mission

Orchestrate end-to-end execution for member dinners, socials, offsites, and partner activations across all of our rooms.

Protect the Maxwell standard while keeping the vibe relaxed and member-led.
What you’ll do

Run the floor. Lead pre-event walkthrough, staff huddle, and timeline.

Manage member-led cooking and self-serve drinks. Provide mise, tools, and guidance. No mixing or cooking for them.

Coordinate vendors. Load-in, permits, insurance, rentals, outside caterers, and chef collabs when scheduled.

Own room turns and layouts. Tables, service stations, staging, coat flow.

Handle compliance. Occupancy, noise, ID checks when required, glassware rules, open-flame policies.

Oversee AV. Mic checks, music handoff, screen and projector, content cues.

Solve problems fast. Spills, guest issues, late arrivals, weather pivots.

Document events. Headcount, run-of-show timestamps, incident log, etc
Tools and handoffs

ROS and BEO packets, floor plans, vendor schedules, inventory sheets.

Radios, cue sheets, QR guest lists, incident forms.

Handoff reports to Ops and Membership after each event.
Success looks like

On-time starts, smooth pacing, clean transitions, tidy room turns.

Members feel supported without staff taking over.

Zero safety incidents. Clean close with full reset and signed checkout.
Experience
-
2+ years leading events or venue operations.
-
Calm on comms. Direct, clear, and steady.
-
Comfortable leading 5–20 staff and interfacing with high-expectation guests.
Shifts and reporting

Mostly afternoons and nights, weekdays and weekends as scheduled.

Reports to Operations. Leads floor staff, contractors, and volunteers as assigned.
