Kitchen / Bakery Support @ Prequel Cafe (West Town)
Full-Time | Weekends required
We’re looking for a hardworking, fast-moving Kitchen Staff member to join the team at Prequel Cafe—a quality-focused cafe and bakery in West Town.
This is a hands-on role supporting the kitchen with food prep, cleaning, and organization. You’ll make items like sandwiches, toasts, and bagels, assist with bread-making, and learn how to create our signature American-style pastries—all made in-house.
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have 2+ years of kitchen or bakery/cafe service experience
- Have a passion for artisan baking and commitment to quality
- Stay focused and efficient under pressure
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
- Show up with a positive, ready-to-work attitude
- Have availability on weekends
Essential Functions
- Ability to read and follow prep lists and recipes
- Basic knife skills and safe handling of equipment (food processor, stand mixers, mandolin, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, sanitary station at all times
- Communicate ordering and prep needs clearly across shifts
- Keep fridges and storage organized and labeled
- Adapt to changes in service flow (especially seasonal pace shifts)
- Close and deep-clean the kitchen to standard each week
- ServSafe certified or working toward certification
