We are seeking a part-time Pastry Cook for our new luxury location in Tysons! Our Tysons location hosts four on-site dining areas including fine dining, all day casual, modern casual and an upscale bar lounge.
POSITION SUMMARY
To provide timely preparation of quality food for residents, customers, family members, guests and staff according to established policies and procedures, using safe food handling principles. Supports the team by demonstrating the highest standards of culinary excellence, accountability, respect, integrity, and compassion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepares quality baked goods, desserts and pastries at designated times and cycle menus, while demonstrating kitchen sanitation practices according to HACCP procedures.
- Precuts and portions all baked goods to ensure consistency in portion controls.
- Prepares any needed items for catering requests in a timely and professional manner. Works closely with Dining Room Manager on event needs.
- Regularly checks menu cycle to ensure all food items are available for proper preparation of desserts and other needed items.
- Responsible for early morning production of bakery and pastry needs.
- Ensures a high-quality eye appeal is achieved on all bakery items. Provides additional garnishing when needed to properly present desserts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- 1-3+ years previous baking experience, basic knowledge and understanding of baking techniques
- Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, residents and guests and to follow standardized recipes.
- Able to operate job related kitchen equipment and tools.
- Current sanitation certification.
