Cake Decorator

Lincoln Park is a fast paced bakery looking for a skilled cake decorator to join our team. We specialize in buttercream icing and decorations. Job is 30+ hours a week.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Primary Tasks:

• building and assembling cakes with fillings and icings
• decorating cakes with buttercream according to house standards and to fit customer’s custom order requests
• draw cake decorations free hand with buttercream

Secondary Tasks:

• coloring buttercream, making sprinkle mixes, light cleaning
• writing on cakes

Skills and Requirements:

• Must be detail oriented
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 30+lbs
• Must be able to work daytime and weekend hours
• Must have at least 1 year cake decorating experience in a professional kitchen
• Culinary school graduate preferred
• Effective time management skills are a plus
• Ability to think on your feet, as well as independent problem solving skills are a plus
• Work well in a team 

• Must be State of Illinois & City of Chicago Food Handler Certified (ANSI Accredit)
• Must have basic HACCP knowledge
