The Lunchroom is looking for part-time Hosts to join our team at our new location at Plaza del Lago in Wilmette. This position will be the first impression for our guests and will be key to delivering a memorable experience for all who dine with us. This role will be responsible to manage the seating of guests and will oversee The Lunchbox. The Host is an integral part of the FOH team and maintains a friendly, positive and professional attitude. We offer a small team where all team members’ contributions are valued.
Our ideal candidate will be organized and precise – with an eye towards consistency and quality. Prior experience maintaining a professional and friendly communication style with guests to create a welcoming client-centric environment is a must. The Host will serve as a restaurant ambassador and concierge to greet each guest as they enter and do whatever is necessary to assure they have the best experience possible.
Our environment requires our team to be professional in appearance and polished to deliver exceptional output to the store’s upscale clientele.
In our Gold Coast location downtown, The Lunchroom sits inside SPACE 519, a meticulously curated fashion and lifestyle destination recently featured in The New York Times. The Lunchroom, a 40-seat breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch restaurant with an all-day café, is winner of “OpenTable Diner’s Choice’, Chicago Magazine’s ‘Hot List’, and Modern Luxury ‘Brunch Buzz. This concept has been entirely replicated at the much-anticipated historic redevelopment of Plaza del Lago.

The Lunchroom features a vegetable-forward, California-inspired menu centered on globally-influenced entrees including soups, salads, sandwiches, fish tacos, grain bowls and other lunch and brunch dishes. With a focus on locally-sourced ingredients, the menu features classic dishes with a twist.
