General Description
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Events Line Cook to join our Wythe Events team. This role supports our high-volume events operation including weddings, corporate functions, private parties, and special celebrations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining our exacting standards for food quality and presentation. This position offers excellent opportunities for culinary growth within our respected events program.
Job Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Execute service and prep assignments with speed, (weddings, corporate functions, private parties)
- Follow recipe and portioning guidelines
- Maintain food safety standards and ensure proper handling, storage, and temperature control throughout service
- Collaborate effectively with Events Cooks and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth service flow and timing
- Maintain clean and organized work stations throughout service and complete breakdown procedures
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding timing, special dietary requests
- Assist with receiving and proper storage of all culinary back of house
- Reliable and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrate pride in work as a direct reflection of respect for yourself, the team, our hotel
- Assist all kitchen team members willingly, from prep cooks to dishwashers, fostering collaborative environment
Position Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 1 year line cook experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in restaurant, hotel, or catering environment
- Basic knife skills and fundamental cooking techniques with ability to work multiple stations
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure during high-volume service periods
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, evenings, and holiday periods
- Understanding of food safety, storage and sanitation practices
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent verbal communication skills
- Passion for food quality and hospitality excellence
- Eagerness to learn from experienced team members and continuously improve techniques
- Open availability and enthusiasm for working our busiest events (weekends!)
