About Us:
7 Spring is a unique, upcoming, high-end community hub where the aroma of fresh espresso meets the clatter of backgammon dice. We serve quality coffee and create a welcoming space for casual players, die-hard fans, and curious newcomers alike. Currently open from 10AM-7PM, we’re constantly evolving to fit what the community wants. We’ll be incorporating some alcohol drinks shortly, such as spritzes and espresso martinis. Our goal is to be a neighborhood favorite and become a fun point for community members to relax, laugh, enjoy quality coffee/matcha, and make some friends in the backgammon community.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a friendly, extroverted, and reliable barista who can keep their cool during busy rushes and stay sharp and professional during slower hours. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys luxury coffee and appreciates the social energy of games like backgammon. Our current goals includes gaining a repeat customer base and expanding our reach to new clientele in and outside of the SoHo neighborhood.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare espresso drinks and other beverages to standard
- Provide excellent, friendly customer service at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and café space
- Keep a positive, calm attitude during high-volume shifts
- Stay engaged, presentable, and productive during slower times
- Chat basic backgammon with customers and foster a friendly, inclusive vibe around the game tables, bonus if you’re a pro yourself
- Be communicative with management and leadership to make sure whole team is on same page
Qualifications:
- Previous barista experience required
- Familiarity with basic espresso techniques and equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Comfortable interacting with a diverse customer base
- Must be okay with change & adaptable as this space continues to evolve
- Interest in backgammon is a plus (no mastery required—we can teach you the ropes)
