Matchaful is dedicated to bringing sustainably sourced, high-quality matcha and wellness-focused foods to our community. Our Culinary Lab/Commissary supports our cafés and wholesale operations by producing matcha-infused goods and ensuring seamless back-of-house operations.

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Porter to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment for our commissary kitchen.

Availability: Mon, Wednesday, Thursday 10a-4p (ideally candidate has potential for more hours) 

Responsibilities

• Deep Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Perform regular deep cleaning of equipment including ice machine, oven, hood, and bathrooms.

  • Maintain overall cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas, and storage spaces.

  • Follow sanitation and safety standards in compliance with health code requirements.

• Dishwashing & General Cleaning

  • Efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts.

  • Ensure dish area and cleaning supplies are organized and well-stocked.

• Support for Kitchen Operations

  • Assist culinary staff with light production tasks as needed.

  • Receive and properly store deliveries, ensuring correct labeling and rotation of stock (FIFO).

  • Help keep refrigerators & freezers, dry storage, and supply areas clean and orderly.

• Team Contribution

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and commissary team members.

  • Be proactive in identifying maintenance or cleanliness needs.

  • Support a positive, collaborative, and safe workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a porter, dishwasher, or kitchen support role preferred but not required.

• Strong work ethic with attention to detail.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

• Flexibility to assist with varying tasks and changing priorities.

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
