We have an opening for part time to full time PASTRY CHEF HOURLY positions.
Location: 117 9th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215. Note: online applications accepted only.
Schedule: Full time schedule; flexible 7 days per week availability. Hours and days may vary, more details upon interview.
Required Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced bakery while multi-tasking, 2 years of prior experience required, culinary graduate a plus.
Pay Range: $20.00 to $25.00 an hour depending on experience.
Job Summary
Searching for an ambitious individual looking to grow within an existing commercial kitchen that provides artisanal Italian cookies on a wholesale and retail level. Must be physically agile and be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Must be able to stand on your feet for the majority of a full-time shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises the daily production (prepare and portion dough and other baked goods; mix batters; check ingredients for freshness), packing and distribution cookies.
- Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled, and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs.
- Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets/exceeds federal, state and corporate standards and regulations.
- Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must have:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage shifts/staff
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service experience a plus
- Food handlers certificate a plus
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
