SoHo’s iconic La Esquina is seeking an experience dual role - Bartender/Server for its new concept due to open mid-June 2026.
This concept reimagines the ground floor as an intimate, high-energy space centered on premium mezcal, rare tequilas, natural wines, and shareable dishes inspired by Chef’s travels throughout Mexico. Equal parts spirited bar and tapas-style dining room, it invites guests to explore bold, traditional flavors in a setting designed for connection.
Qualified candidates should meet the following criteria:
- 5 years of New York City restaurant experience (bartenders: at least one year high-volume bartending experience)
- Strong general knowledge of food and food preparation (experience with Mexican cuisine preferred)
- Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Familiar with at least one POS (Toast preferred)
- Knowledge and understanding of DOH procedures
- Able to take direction well from both restaurant managers and the Chef
- Strong communication skills and solid team work
- Interest in the NYC dining scene and the world at large, whether that be art, dance, fashion or books. Bring your creative energy!
Job Duties Include:
- Full bar knowledge, proper measuring and basic cocktail history
- Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests.
- Prepare items needed for the day in the beginning/during and at the end of each shift.
- Maintain clean service areas.
- Take orders, curate the guests dining and beverage experience by making recommendations.
- Re-set each course and clear and reset tables.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience.
- Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow co-workers as situations arise.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($11.35) plus tips
